All children have a right to an appropriate
educational environment where they can
learn and grow.

Children with mental retardation face many
challenges - learning does not come easily
to them.

They need specialized instruction and
special equipment which makes education
expensive.

For such children, such an environment is
often not available in their neighborhood.

The foundation was started in 1995 to serve the cause
of children with
mental retardation.

Chaitanya means
"energy that sustains life." 
The name recognizes the life force that exists in all of us - even in those who are called mentally retarded.

 

WE CAN HELP!

  
    Mental retardation is caused by damage to, or improper development of, the bran that happens prenatally, during birth or right after birth. It can also be caused by infections or accidents during the first few years of life.

Learning disabilities are found in children who have difficulty in learning to read, write, or calculate without having any sensory deficits or mental retardation.
